Write to your MP: Take a stand in support of BDS, against criminalisation
The current Conservative Government plan to criminalise campaigning for BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) is a re-run of Margaret Thatcher’s extended work in shoring up apartheid South Africa. Cameron apologised in 2006 for Thatcher’s words 20 years earlier that "The ANC is a typical terrorist organisation". But Tory support extended the life of the apartheid regime and encouraged the politicians and generals there that their extreme brutality and racism could endure with Western support.
Palestinians can be spared a great deal of suffering from Israeli brutality if we can grow and intensify the BDS movement. Our ‘South Africa moment’ will come but we need to build opposition to Cameron’s efforts to muzzle the only effective means we have to hasten that day and reduce the cost of freedom for the Palestinians.
Please sign the letter, ask others to do so, and get involved in building solidarity with the Palestinian people.
